Cod de poveste (Story code) is a project initiated by writer Bogdan Răileanu to encourage the reading of short stories in spaces and places where we have some time to spare: bus stations, the subway, or commuting to school or work (all stories can be read under 20 minutes). The link between physical spaces and the website that hosts the stories is a QR code (hence the name) to be scanned.
The visual identity of the project draws inspiration from old physical library cards and their table sections that noted borrowing information. The resulting modular ID system hints at the diversity of the project: the QRs are to be found on posters and other printed materials designed by various graphic designers and illustrators and placed around the city. The ID thus transforms with each story and format used to accommodate all the information and the space available.
