Misbits Recordings / VA - The Emerald
Born in 2017, Misbits Recordings is an experimental and ambient music label from Bucharest. 2018 marked the launch of its first release in a series of nine 10 inch records: VA - The Emerald. The various international artists invited to record for the series share a conceptual sensibility that places their music at the intersection of natural and man-made chaos.
GLITCH created the sleeve and record design for the series that sports an intricate 1 square meter illustration meant to take listeners on a Moebius strip journey from nature to city and back. Each sleeve holds 1/9th of the illustration so only when placing all of them side by side on a 3 by 3 grid does the whole story reveal itself.
