At the end of 2017, Radio Zu launched the first visual radio in Romania. The 24/7 radio broadcast was streamed online and set to visual content that ranged from synchronized music videos to TV commercials. Glitch was commissioned to create the creative direction for the new visual radio station that included promos, ids, animated logos and all kinds of animated visual content to be played on the air.
Inspired by lyrics of popular pop songs and illustrated by a who’s who of Romanian talent, the visual image pool included a plethora of pop clichees that make up the great landscape of Romanian commercial music. Andra Rusu, Evelin Bundur, Livia Falcaru and Glitch’s co-creative director Cosmin Simionescu have illustrated the cheeky obsessions and Colorbitor brought them to life in funky animations.
When everything was set, we’ve launched the Zu visual radio through an outdoor and online campaign that made very cheeky use of the wonderful illustrations.
